Phils activate Utley (oblique strain) from DL

Chase Utley has been activated from the disabled list and will be batting second for the Philadelphia Phillies against the New York Mets on Friday night.

PHILADELPHIA -- Chase Utley was activated from the disabled list and batted second during the Philadelphia Phillies' 4-3 loss to the New York Mets on Friday night.

Utley had been sidelined since May 23 because of an oblique strain. He is batting .264 with seven homers and 25 RBIs after going 0-for-5 against the Mets.

With Utley's return, manager Charlie Manuel had his regular starting eight in the lineup together for just the fourth time this season.
