The Eagles practice fields are empty now that mini-camp has come and gone. But all is not quiet, a handful of birds including new fullback Leonard Weaver are still pushing to get better.

"I kind of got up and was like I don't know if I'm going to go in but I kind of thought about the days where somebody is out there in this league getting up earlier than me. There's somebody out there who's trying to work out to bet my position."

Weaver knows that as well as anyone. Just 5 years ago he was that person, undrafted out of a division 2 college he landed in Seattle as a free agent and turned himself into one of the best in his position.

"One of the things that keeps me driving is that particular thought that coming in I've had to work twice as hard as others I don't want to be one of those guys that get a lot of money and then stop working and become a lazy player."

Football is not Weaver's only passion. He can bust through a defensive line just as easily as he can bust out a line.

"I like to sing."

While Weaver usually sings gospel I'm sure he wouldn't mind singing "We are the Champions" come February.
