Neither Kevin Harvick nor team owner Richard Childress would admit they are parting ways following the 2013 season, but they appeared on good terms following Sunday's win at Phoenix International Raceway.

AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Neither Kevin Harvick nor team owner Richard Childress would admit they are parting ways following the 2013 season, but they appeared on good terms following Sunday's win at Phoenix International Raceway.

Childress put his arm around race-winner Harvick during his postrace interview and the driver said he and the owner of Richard Childress racing "will always be friends."

ESPN's Marty Smith cited sources on Friday that said Harvick has signed a multiyear deal to drive for Stewart-Haas Racing beginning in 2014.

Harvick and Childress have declined to discuss the situation, but neither talked like they would be together beyond next year after Harvick ended a 44-race losing streak.

"We still have a lot of racing left to do and we owe it to our sponsors and our company to go out and do exactly what we did today, and be men and do the best we can for everybody," Harvick said.

Said Childress, "Yeah, Kevin said it all. We're going to go to Homestead, try to win. We look to everybody in '13 to go win a championship, and whatever happens, happens. It's a business decision. This is a business sport."

Harvick said winning Sunday proved the team can remain competitive amidst the distraction of his contract situation.

"There can be distractions, there can be whatever is happening around the racetrack, off the racetrack," Harvick said. "But when you get in that garage and everybody is doing their jobs ... I mean, we're all just racers in the end. We want to race cars and it comes with a lot of media. It comes with a lot of things outside the racetrack.

"But when we actually get to get into our element, we all do our jobs regardless, and we all don't want to go out and embarrass ourselves and not run good. We want to be exactly where we are, right here, talking to you after the race and in Victory Lane and doing the things that make us all happy."
