Wynnefield Heights home invasion

Police say a man shot during a home invasion overnight was a would-be robber.

Police were called to a home on the 3900 block of Lankenau Avenue in Wynnefield Heights for a home invasion robbery.

Once there, investigators found a man with a gunshot wound.

According to police, the man shot was a would-be robber. A male occupant of the home was tied up and pistol whipped. A woman was also inside, but she was not injured.

The man shot was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and was last reported in critical condition.
