NEWPORT, Del. - November 10, 2009 (WPVI) -- A feud between two business partners turned violent Monday night when one of the men stabbed the other inside their shop on East Ayre Street in Newport, Delaware.
Newport Police are looking for Thomas S. Bloss, 21, of, Wilmington. Police believe Bloss may have fled to New York City.
Police were called to the shop along the 400 block of East Ayre Street in Newport, Delaware just before 10:30 p.m. Monday.
Witnesses told investigators that Bloss came to the shop and argued with the victim over the business, pulled out a large knife and cut the gas line of a propane tank. One witness rushed to shut off the gas, which was near a space heater, and that's when Bloss lunged at the 21-year-old victim, slashed the victim's neck, and then ran off.
The victim was treated at a nearby hospital and released.
Paperwork has been filed charging Bloss with felony second-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony; and three counts of first-degree reckless endangering. Police believe Bloss travels frequently to New York City, and told family members he was en route there late Monday. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact Newport Police at (302) 995-1411. Anyone encountering the suspect should call 911.
