Pa. barber shot and killed in home

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - November 19, 2009 -- Police in eastern Pennsylvania are investigating the murder of a barber gunned down in his Allentown home.

Authorities say 32-year-old Alex Cercado was shot at about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday. Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Paul Zondlo says Cercado was pronounced dead a little more than an hour later, and he has classified the case a homicide.

Friends say Cercado had run nearby Latino Barber Shop for the last two years.

Police say the shooting initially appeared to be a home-invasion robbery but interviews with others in the house indicate that something else might have triggered the gunfire; they have declined to release more information.
