Comcast settles data discrimination lawsuit

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - December 23, 2009 -- Comcast will pay up to $16 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing the cable TV operator of delaying certain Internet traffic. of Internet traffic.

The lawsuit says Comcast delayed transfers of large data files by customers who use BitTorrent and similar file-sharing programs despite promising subscribers unfettered access to the Internet.
