CARLTON, Ga. (AP) - September 20, 2013 (WPVI) -- A slow-speed chase is underway for Zip, a missing 50-pound pet tortoise.
Zip's owners say he escaped from a yard in northeast Georgia by pushing through the fence.
Susan and Kerry Fisher are contacting their neighbors and putting up fliers.
The Fishers worry Zip won't be able to survive the winter.
They have an added concern, that someone might make a turtle stew.
The Fishers tells The Athens Banner-Herald they figure Zip went looking for a mate.
