Fire Causes Problems for Some SEPTA Riders

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

An intense blaze near SEPTA's Ivy Ridge station closed a section of the R6 Norristown high-speed rail line on Monday night.

A pile of railroad ties became engulfed in flames.

The fire started shortly before 7:00, and it was under control about 45 minutes later.

No one was hurt.

The R6 line was fully operational by the morning rush hour.
