PHILADELPHIA - May 31, 2007 (WPVI) -- Officials are warning that ozone levels will be high in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties today.
The orange alert level means there will be unhealthy pollution levels for sensitive people.
Ground-level ozone, a key component of smog, forms during warm weather when pollution from vehicles, industry, households and power plants "bakes" in the hot sun, making it hard for some people to breathe.
On air quality action days, young children, the elderly and people with Breathing problems are extra vulnerable to air pollution and should limit outdoor activities.
There are also orange level warnings for the Pittsburgh region and the southcentral region of Pennsylvania.
