PHILADELPHIA - July 7, 2013 (WPVI) -- Don't look now, but 1 million watts of forecasting power just arrived at your fingertips!
We're talking about the brand new Stormtracker6 app, available RIGHT NOW:
Apple App store for iPhone and iPad users
Google Play store for Android device users.
Among the great features are the new weather alerts.
For the first time ever, a member of the AccuWeather team actually alerts you to severe weather in the area.
The alerts are customized to YOUR area. The new app allows you receive alerts, forecasts and live radar for your current location and three other specific locations you can set yourself.
The new app is called 6abc StormTracker, and so it of course features the same StormTracker 6 radar we use to track the weather for you. But there's even more.
Now it's easier than ever to see, shoot and send pictures of weather events right to 6abc and Action News - pictures that we often use on the air and post on 6abc.com.
Tap the icon, select your picture and send. See it, shoot it, send it!
There are also quick links to 6abc's Facebook and Twitter pages so you can let family, friends and the AccuWeather team know what's going on with the weather where you are.
And of course the app features the latest video updates from each member of the Accuweather team at 6abc.
To get the new 6abc StormTracker app, just head over to the Apple app store or to Google Play, search 6abc StormTracker and click "install."
It's completely free.
