Shae Crisson anchors the weekend editions of Eyewitness News with Fred Shropshire and reports on everything from crime and courts to politics and health during the week.

Since joining the Eyewitness News team in 2001, Shae has covered several named storms that have hit North Carolina. Some of Shae's most memorable moments include covering the Carolina Hurricanes during their quest for the 2002 Stanley Cup and when they became the 2006 Stanley Cup Champions. She also followed Raleigh native Clay Aiken to the American Idol Finals in Los Angeles and learned a lot about politics covering the North Carolina delegation at the Republican National Convention in New York in 2004.

The most emotional story for Shae came April 16, 2007, when a gunman opened fire at Virginia Tech, her alma mater. Shae spent several days telling the stories of students from North Carolina who were affected by the tragedy.

Shae began her career at WLUC in Michigan after graduating from Virginia Tech. Shae was a one woman band reporter in the Escanaba Bureau. She spent two years reporting and anchoring weekend newscasts at WSLS in Roanoke, Virginia before joining the Eyewitness News team. While in Roanoke, Shae won Best Spot News Coverage awards from the Associated Press and RTNDA. Shae's continuing coverage of a deadly tornado won her a 2009 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Hard News Feature and a Specialized Reporting Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.

Shae and her family live in Wake County with their two pugs. They're active supporters of the Triangle United Way, the YMCA of the Triangle Area "We Build People" campaign, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and Interact of Wake County which helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
