Scott Dean joined the ABC11 AccuWeather team in the summer of 2007 as weekend evening meteorologist. Scott began his career at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio where he worked for seven years, initially as the weekend meteorologist until he was promoted to the position of weekday morning meteorologist.
Scott is a proud native of North Carolina, and is thrilled to be back home. He was born in Burlington and spent his early school years in Raleigh before moving to Williamsburg, VA where he finished high school. Scott earned a business degree at UNC Wilmington, but decided that he really wanted to pursue his life-long interest in weather, and subsequently attended NC State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology in 1998. Scott is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and has been awarded its broadcasting seal.
When he is not "chasing" storms, Scott enjoys many outdoor activities, particularly golf, fishing and cycling. Scott and his family love to travel to unexplored places in their spare time.
