RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The Carolina Hurricanes said Friday the team has reassigned goaltender Justin Peters to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Peters was recalled to Carolina on Nov. 18, and served as the Hurricanes' backup goaltender for four games as Michael Leighton recovered from a lower-body injury sustained at Montreal on Nov. 17.
Peters, 23, has yet to make his NHL playing debut, though he did serve as the Hurricanes' backup goaltender for four games in December 2008, as well as the four games during this most recent recall.
