(04/21/06 -- DURHAM) (WTVD) -- New details are emerging about how the accuser in the Duke lacrosse rape investigation identified her alleged attackers.
Eyewitness News was allowed to look at the 15-page document describing the process. The accuser looked at pictures of 46 lacrosse players on April 4 in a police department Powerpoint presentation. She would look at a picture, then see a blank screen before looking at the next image.
She identified Reade Seligmann, 20, with 100-percent certainty as the man who forced her to perform oral sex on him. She also identified Collin Finnerty, 19, as the man who raped and sodomized her.
The transcript indicates the accuser recognized several players, nothing where they were in the house at the time of the party. She identified a third suspect with 90-percent certainty as the man who strangled here.
News of the lineup has outraged defense attorneys. They note that police investigators did not include images of people who were not on the lacrosse team. They may use that fact to supress the identification from evidence.
