RALEIGH (WTVD) -- ABC11 Eyewitness News is providing viewers the opportunity to see the latest cutting edge High Definition technology during local newscasts.
Monday, Eyewitness News unveiled a new state-of-the-art High Definition set built in North Carolina along with new studio cameras, a new graphics package and a new HD weather system.
"The response we have gotten from our viewers has been remarkable," said ABC11 President and General Manager John Idler. "From the stunning new picture quality to the clarity of the weather information we provide, people know they are seeing something special when they watch Eyewitness Newsand that's very gratifying."

"This is an exciting time for everyone who likes to watch television," said Idler. "High Definition changes the television viewing experience and we are proud to provide this service to the people who turn to us every day."
Every newscast from ABC11 Eyewitness News will be broadcast in HD. Viewers will also have the chance to see North Carolina's most powerful radar like they have never seen before. ABC11 First Alert Doppler XP is now in HD as well.
"When you combine the power of one million watts with the clarity and resolution of High Definition, you truly have a special forecasting tool that can really make the difference in our area," said ABC11 Chief Meteorologist Chris Hohmann. "One look at the new graphics and the new maps and you'll see what I mean."
