Woman forces girl to perform sex acts

JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- A Johnston County woman is accused of sexually exploiting a small child over the Internet.

Johnston County social workers and sheriff's detectives were tipped off about the case last month.

On Friday, authorities arrested 45-year-old Gabriele Birzer Secrest of Angier, on one count of felony child abuse.

Sheriff's investigators allege Secrest forced a 10-year-old girl to perform sex acts in front of a Web cam on a computer and also disciplined the young girl on camera.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Tammy Amaon said investigators did not believe the incidents had been ongoing for any extended length of time.

Secrest was jailed under a $50,000 bond.
