CHAPEL HILL (WTVD) -- Authorities have released information about the bus driver charged with killing a pedestrian.
The Raleigh News and Observer reports Chapel Hill bus driver James Orr has had 10 traffic accidents since 2001.
Eight of those were when he was driving a public transit bus.
Orr could have been fired after each of the accidents according to town policy.
Orr was fired after last month's death of Valarie Hughes.
Officers say Orr's bus struck Hughes while she had a walk signal to use a crosswalk near UNC Hospitals.
Orr has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. He's scheduled to be in court on January 12.
