Saint Augustine's band leader dies

  

CHARLOTTE (WTVD) -- Saint Augustine's College said Friday it's mourning the sudden passing of Mr. William Woods, Director of Bands and Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.

He was with the Woods was with the College band at the annual CIAA tournament in Charlotte when he died suddenly. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

"Mr. Woods made a significant impact on the Saint Augustine's College community and our band program, from the program's implementation and founding to the supervision of the jazz and pep bands," said President Dianne Boardley Suber. "He will be greatly missed."

Woods joined Saint Augustine's College in July 2005.

Funeral arrangements are being finalized.
