Police say 27-year-old Matthew Bonezzi was admitted to a local hospital after running from North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troopers on Saturday night.

Bonezzi was allegedly driving his motorcycle recklessly on the Beltline, when a trooper tried to stop him. Bonezzi ran from police, leading them on a chase.

The chase ended when Bonezzi tried to turn into the Crestview neighborhood off of Six Forks Road at an estimated 70 miles an hour. He ran off road, hit a curb and was ejected from his motorcycle.

He was taken to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, but his condition is not known at this time. No other injuries were reported.

Bonezzi is charged with felony speeding to elude, DWI and reckless driving.
