SANFORD (WTVD) -- A 17-year-old who was found shot in the head Wednesday night has died from her injuries.
Sanford police responded to Third Street and Hickory Ave. in response to shots fired and found Shamika Mikkia Lett in the road with a gunshot wound to her head.
She was transported to Central Carolina Hospital and then airlifted to UNC Hospitals where she died.
Police have not released any information regarding a possible suspects.
