An illegal immigrant living in North Carolina has been charged with impersonating an officer.

This past week, a federal judge sentenced Roberto Diosdado-Star to seven years in prison.

The FBI said he impersonated a customs border patrol officer and then tricked illegal immigrants into paying him for documentation.

Diosdado-Star allegedly collected more than $200,000.

Officials said he used the money to buy cars and a house in Raleigh.
