SUV hits school bus head-on

JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- An SUV collided head-on with a school bus on Highway 210 near McGees Crossroads in Johnston County Thursday, sending several people to the hospital.

It happened just after 4 p.m. as the bus was transporting a full load of children from McGee's Crossroads Elementary.

Four students and the bus driver were hurt. They were taken to WakeMed along with the driver of the SUV.

Officials said the students and the bus driver were treated and released from the hospital. There was no word on the condition of the SUV driver.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
