The Goldsboro Police Department said it arrested a murder suspect from a year-old murder with the assistance of a Wayne County Sherriff's detective.

Authorities arrested James Sanders in Bennettsville, SC and transported him to Goldsboro Thursday. Goldsboro authorities then served him with a warrant for the Sept. 2008 murder of Eric Lamont Best.

The warrant was issued on September 30, 2008 following an investigation of Best's murder. Sanders is accused of shooting Best on September 24, 2008.

Sanders is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center without bond.
