Former Wake detention officer arrested

Monday, October 26, 2009

A former Wake County detention officer is in big trouble with the law after investigators say he sold drugs and gave a deadly weapon to an inmate.

According to arrest warrants obtained by Eyewitness News, Timothy Maurice Bullock, 26, provided a knife and drugs to an inmate who was housed at the Wake County Jail.

That inmate was identified as Marcus Covington. The offenses are alleged to have occurred in April and May. Records indicate Bullock resigned as a detention officer in April.

Bullock will face six counts each of selling or delivering marijuana, conspiring to sell or deliver marijuana, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute. He will also face eight counts of providing drugs to an inmate.

He was scheduled to appear in court Monday. Until then, he was in jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
