Cumberland County Sheriff's detectives have released the name of a soldier who was shot and killed Monday in Spring Lake.

Mitchell was from Oakland, California. He served with the 364th Quartermaster Company, 189th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), 82nd Sustainment Brigade.

"Specialist Bridges-Mitchell was a dedicated soldier and an exceptional young man that had a bright future. Our heartfelt thoughts, prayers and condolences are now with Chris' family and with the Army family with whom he served here at Fort Bragg," offered Lt. Col. Robert A. DeLacy, commander, 189th CSSB.

A memorial service for Bridges-Mitchell is yet to be determined.
