Man captured in Spring Lake shooting

SPRING LAKE (WTVD) -- Cumberland County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are investigating a murder that happened Saturday at around 8:45pm in the Spring Lake community.

Investigators say 50-year-old Tyronne Broaddus of Spring Lake was found shot to death in the front yard of a home at 457 North Grogg Street. Deputies responding to a report of shots fired in the area located the crime scene and found the victim unresponsive.

Meanwhile, Homicide detectives say they've arrested a suspect in the shooting.

Howard Barnett, 42, was captured at the Starlit Motel in Spring Lake Sunday. He's being held without bond.
