Contest encourages residents to recycle

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh residents will have a chance to win a $50 gift card for recycling correctly, beginning today.

Residents must place the City-issued sticker on their recycling bin, put approved recycling items in their bin and then leave their bin at the curb on recycling day.

By recycling products correctly, you will be eligible to win a $50 Harris Teeter gift card.

The purpose of the contest is to encourage people to recycle while teaching them what the recycling processor can't take. For a full list of items that can't be recycled, click here.

The "Recycle and Win" campaign plans to award 260 gift cards over the next 26 weeks.
