Airport delays

RDU officials said some airline passengers suffered delays Thursday thanks to a national computer glitch.

RDU said it was notified of the problem around 7:40 a.m. Spokesperson Mindy Hamlin told ABC11 Eyewitness News that although RDU was seeing some delays, it was not a major problem.

The problem was solved by 11 a.m. but the morning's delays affected some afternoon and evening flights, according to Hamlin.

RDU has had a limited number of cancellations due to the issue and most of its flights were on schedule.

According to the FAA, a traffic management program caused the problem.

Travelers are urged to check their airline concerning flight status.
