EDGECOMBE COUNTY (WTVD) -- A Highway Patrol trooper and two people were injured in a wreck Thursday evening in Edgecombe County.
According to authorities, Trooper K.S. Howald was traveling east on Highway 97 just outside of Rocky Mount when she activated her blue light and siren to pass several vehicles.
As she passed, one of the drivers made a left turn into a driveway, hitting Howald's patrol on the front, left side. Hoswald ran off the road and hit a fence.
The driver and one passenger in the car that hit the trooper were taken to the hospital along with Trooper Howald.
All three were treated for minor injuries and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
