Visitations began Monday evening for Shawna Givens. She's the woman found dead in a Fayetteville home last week.

Investigators continue to piece together Givens' murder and a murder-suicide in New Jersey, which they believe is connected.

Family and friends are remembering 35-year-old Givens and are sharing stories about the way Givens lived her life. They still don't know why her life was taken.

Givens' sister said she still can't believe the phone calls telling her that something was wrong.

"'You need to call your mom. It's your sister.' I just knew," said Givens' sister Shay Eaves. "So, I called my mom and just said 'Mom, don't tell me if it's anything bad' and she said, 'She's gone.'"

Givens was found dead inside her Fayetteville home a few days after an Easter weekend trip with a Fort Bragg doctor she worked with. Dr. Giaconda Navek reportedly introduced Givens as his girlfriend.

Authorities believe after killing Givens, Navek drove to New Jersey and killed a former medical colleague there before taking his own life.

In an exclusive interview with ABC11, Eaves said she has one main question.

"Why? Why he felt he had the right to do this to her," said Eaves. "We just want to know why and we'll never know why."`

Eaves said her sister had never mentioned the doctor, had never indicated any type relationship outside her marriage.

While she doesn't know what happened, Eaves said Givens lived life to the fullest and she will miss having her in her life.

"I want her to know how much I love her," said Eaves. "How much her mom and dad love her. How much her brothers loved her, and her children and her husband and all of her family and friends and I'll miss her every single day of my life."

One of the things Eaves hopes others will learn from this tragedy -- not to take life for granted and to always tell those you care about how much you love them.

Givens' funeral is scheduled for Tuesday.
