Shots fired, body found in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police found a body Monday afternoon in downtown Fayetteville.

An eyewitness told ABC 11 that gunshots were fired followed by an ambulance arriving to the scene. When Fayetteville police arrived at around 2:30 p.m., a body was found near the bank of Cross Creek, which is along the 200 block of Green Street.

Police have not released additional information.
