Reward offered in Vance County dog abuse case

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

The Vance County Animal Department is looking for the person or persons who injured a dog.

Authorities said they found the female dog in the parking lot of the Humane Society in Henderson Tuesday morning.

A vet has checked out the dog and reports she has an eye and ear infection, scabies, hook and round worms and some other issues. The dog also has large sores on its hips and front legs.

The dog is being nursed back to health and once she recovers she will be released to an out-of-state rescue agency.

A reward is being offered for information about the abuse.
