A factory building was evacuated on Lufkin Rd. Thursday after it caught fire.

Officials said the blaze began in a piece of machinery at Tipper Tie between Classic Drive and Ten-Ten Road.

Lufkin Rd. was closed while firefighters battled the blaze.

Pictures from Chopper 11 showed the flames had made it through the roof in one area.

About 100 employees were evacuated.

Officials said the fire was contained in one section of the plant and the firewall to the main building was apparently holding.

There were no injuries and no danger to nearby buildings, including Lufkin Middle School.
