Armed Forces honored at USO Gala

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Some of our nation's bravest got a special thank you Saturday night in Raleigh.

The USO of North Carolina's 8th Annual USO Salute to Freedom Gala took place at the Raleigh Convention Center.

It honored service members from each branch of the armed forces.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, was the guest speaker.

ABC11's Larry Stogner and Tisha Powell were proud to be emcees for the gala.  

All the proceeds from the black tie event benefit the USO of North Carolina at RDU Airport.
