Car collides with tree, killing driver

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Garner man is dead after his car hit a tree Saturday morning, police said.

It happened just after 7:00 a.m. on Tryon Road near Withers Road in Raleigh.

Investigators said 20-year-old Gustavo Ruiz Jr. drove off the road and hit a tree. According to the police report, Ruiz was driving 35 miles per hour which is the posted speed for that area.
