Neighbors and strangers show support for grieving community

Saturday, December 15, 2012

As the nation mourns the loss of the 26 children and staff who lost their lives in Friday's school shooting, neighbors and strangers alike are stepping up to help Newtown heal.

A Sanford, N.C. woman was so moved by the Sandy Hook Elementary school tragedy she has donated 26 Christmas trees - one for each victim- to be put up at the Sandy Hook Fire House.

Bee Publishing is taking donations of ornaments to decorate the trees.

Donated ornaments can be sent to Bee Publishing at 5 Church Hill Road Newtown, CT 06470

The Western Connecticut United Way is taking monetary donations at any Newtown Savings Bank branch or online.
