Police: Man killed in Durham shooting

Authorities in Durham are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Tuesday morning.

It happened just before 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Cecil Street near Chautauqua Avenue.

Authorities said 33-year-old Kinta Lamont Newman was shot by an unidentified suspect. Newman was taken to a nearby hospital by acquaintances, where he later died.

Investigators are currently searching for the suspect who was described as an African American man driving a dark-colored Cadillac. He was last seen wearing a white-colored turtle neck shirt.
