Pedestrian struck along Raleigh roadway

A pedestrian is recovering in the hospital after being struck in Raleigh Friday.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Rock Quarry Road near Lyndhurst Drive.

Police said the male victim, whose name hasn't been released, was conscious and breathing when he was taken to WakeMed Hospital. He is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.

Police said the unidentified driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained on the scene after the accident. It is unclear if they will face any charges.
