Police said a car driving down Nowell Road slammed into a tree in front of an apartment complex.

The driver of the car was pinned in the vehicle, while a passenger in the car was ejected.

Police later identified the driver as 43-year-old Lawrence George Bloomer of Cedar Downs Drive in Raleigh. His passenger was identified as 25-year-old Kody Russell Bressman of Talking Drive, Cary.
