Investigators said the incident began when three men broke into a home and an officer was dispatched to the address for a report of a man with a gun.

When Officer Ashley McLamb arrived, the three men allegedly beat him until he lost consciousness.

Dispatchers became concerned when McClamb failed to respond to radio calls and the officer could be heard keying his microphone.

Witnesses reported seeing the officer crawling.

He was eventually located and transported to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.

Friday, police said Jesse Price, Afis Holt, and Dacarrus Staton are all charged with assault on an officer, burglary, kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Victoria Shaver is charged with felony conspiracy in the same incident.
