New jobs coming to North Carolina

Tuesday, July 09, 2013

Governor Pat McCrory announced Tuesday that GE Aviations is expanding and adding nearly 250 jobs at four North Carolina facilities over the next two years.

"Part of our state's economic recovery not only relies on creating new jobs here, but also on retaining great companies like GE," said Governor McCrory.

GE Aviation will produce engine components made of advanced ceramic matrix composite that increases efficiency and lowers fuel consumption.

The new jobs will be in Durham, Asheville, West Jefferson and Wilmington.
