JOHNSTON COUNTY (WTVD) -- Several people were arrested overnight in Johnston County following a huge brawl.
Shortly after midnight, a fight broke out near the Food Lion on U.S. 301 in Kenly.
During the melee, eyewitnesses said gunshots were fired, but no one was hit.
Kenly police had to request backup from several agencies to break up the fight involving 15 to 20 people.
Eight people were arrested and three cars were towed from the scene.
It is unclear what started the altercation.
