Driver crashed into a tree along Interstate 40 between US 1 and Jones Franklin Road in Raleigh

Emergency crews in Raleigh had to cut a man out of his car overnight after he got trapped in the wreckage.

Firefighters had to pry the roof off the car to free the man after he crashed into a tree along Interstate 40 between US 1 and Jones Franklin Road.

The driver was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

Details surrounding the accident have not been released.
