Durham girl hit by vehicle while getting on school bus

A Durham girl was injured Thursday morning when a vehicle hit her as she was getting onto a school bus.

It happened just before 7 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Cornwallis Road in west Durham.

Durham Public School officials tell ABC11 that the girl was crossing the street to get on bus 371 to Jordan High School when the vehicle hit her.

The girl was taken to the hospital with a broken collar bone and other non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with passing a stopped school bus.
