A year and a half after a tornado virtually destroyed parts of a southern Illinois town, residents are starting to see signs of recovery.

Crews are building a new strip mall along Route 45 in Harrisburg.

The strip was one of the areas hit hardest by the Leap Day tornado.

City officials say the mall will be home to the same stores that were damaged by the tornado.
