(08/27/07 -- RALEIGH) (WTVD) -- For the first time since her murder, a search warrant has been made public in the Jennifer Nielsen case.
On the June morning Jennifer Nielsen was found murdered, some investigators were searching for clues to a killer while others were making sure that evidence was obtained legally.
All the property inside and outside the AmeriKing convenience store and Subway restaurant were covered by a search warrant obtained by Eyewitness News.
Among the items investigators found were ten cigarette butts.
Tim Nielsen was Jennifer Nielsen's husband. He say the warrant for the first time when Eyewitness News showed it to him Monday.
The warrant lists the t-shirt Jennifer was wearing among another shirt, a white thermal one, that was not the victim's. Tim Nielsen says, "They didn't say what it was for but better safe than sorry. They were trying to get DNA and fingerprints."
Despite the list of possible clues, police say one of the best pieces of evidence right now is still the composite drawing of a long-haired Latino man spotted near the scene of the crime.
That composite sketch and a strand of hair that was found in Jennifer's hand are the strongest pieces of evidence Nielsen's family has to go on. "I don't know if that's something that they're waiting to get DNA back on or not. But they said their initial thing was that it was her hair," Tim Nielsen said.
Jennifer Nielson was eight-month pregnant when she was stabbed behind a convenience store in the early morning hours of June 14 while she was delivering newspapers.
Police released a sketch of a man wanted for questioning, but they are not calling him a suspect.
There's a $10,000 reward in the case.
