(09/23/07 --HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C.) (WTVD) -- A search is underway for a local Boy Scout troop. The group did not return to Raleigh as expected Sunday evening.
Forest Rangers in the Pisgah National Forest in Haywood County received a call around 9 p.m. Sunday reporting eight children and three adults had not returned to Raleigh from their trip to the mountains.
Several agencies are involved in the search, along with fire department, rescue teams and officials from the Haywood County Emergency Management Office.
Crews will search for the group throughout the night.
The missing troop is number 217.
