The National Weather Service says central North Carolina could see 2 to 4 inches of snow this weekend

Forecasters said Friday that a blast of cold air from the west and wet weather caused by a low pressure system off the coast will bring snow Saturday.

The weather service has issued a winter storm watch for most central North Carolina counties from Hickory to Rocky Mount. Forecasters also predicted snowfall of 1 to 2 inches for North Carolina's mountains.
