New mom dies of suspected H1N1, shooting in Orlando leaves one dead, update on Ft. Hood shooting...
A 24 year old woman is suspected of dying from H1N1 after she gave birth to twins. Her family says the twins are premature, but doing well. The mother died at Toledo hospital yesterday. Her family says she had planned to get the H1N1 vaccine, but it was too late. We're told that last month the mother, who was 29 weeks pregnant at the time, went into the hospital with a serious case of bronchitis. The family has now set up a fund in her name to help her newborn twins. You can donate at any Key Bank to the Mandy Kimbler Children's fund.

The army says the suspect in the Fort Hood shootings was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan and counsel soldiers battling combat stress. It's unclear whether Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who is a military psychiatrist, sought the assignment or was going to Afghanistan against his wishes. He's accused of opening fire yesterday at the Texas military base, killing 13 people.
The Ohio Department of Health now says it's okay for doctors and others treating swine flu patients to use simple surgical masks, instead of the N-95 respirator masks. Hospitals had asked for the change because of the shortage of the N-95 masks, which form a tighter seal around the nose and mouth than surgical masks. They also argued the N-95 masks were unnecessary because there is no evidence that flu is transmitted through the air.In a brutal assault, the suspect is a step closer to trial. We first told you back in September that police say Randy Martin attacked Mark Brown at an area gas station so viciously that Brown had to be taken to a hospital. Martin fled, but later turned himself in. A grand jury has now indicted him on a felonious assault charge. His arraignment is set for later this month.

Toledo newspaper reporter Millie Benson wrote that book and 22 others of the first 25 Drew books, all under the pen name Carolyn Keene. The library bought the painting in an online auction with $9500 in donations. It will be on display through the end of the year.

Police and a cadaver dog re-entered Sowell's home yesterday, looking for more evidence. So far only three victims have been identified.

Wal-Mart is upping the ante heading into the holiday season trimming the online pre-order prices of some upcoming DVDs. The world's biggest retailer said it would lower the online prices of new DVDs like "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" and "Star Trek" to $10. The move led rivals Amazon.com and Target to reduce prices of some of their online pre-order DVDs. Wal-Mart in turn took a few more cents off its offerings. The DVD price cut follows Wal-Mart's announcement last month that it would reduce prices weekly on top-selling items from bananas to board games through the holiday season.
